St. Bernardus ABT 12

April 16, 2011

Overall Grade:A
Taste:A
Drinkability:A-
Aroma:B+

Sweet and mellow. Goes down easy and it's delicious.

With a rich, malty flavor, St. Bernardus starts smooth and doesn't overwhelm you. Fruity tastes come midway through -- a hint of red grape flavor -- leading into a very clean finish.

Given the carmel brown color, it's surprisingly drinkable. It had a slightly fruity aroma that wasn't as strong as I expected. I didn't taste much alcohol and there isn't a whole lot of carbonation.

This is an outstanding offering from start to finish. I could drink it every night.
