Heretic Brewing Evil Twin

October 8, 2011

Overall Grade:A
Taste:A
Drinkability:B+
Aroma:B

Full-bodied and flavorful red with an abundance of hops.

A faint, hoppy aroma can be detected before a burst of sweetness kicks off the taste. A pleasant amount of hops take over from mid-taste to finish. Not nearly as bitter as some red ales, Evil Twin is delicious and unique.

It's also surprisingly drinkable for its class. Given the malty sweetness, plentiful hops and dark red appearance, I was expecting a heavy beer that would be best in small quantities. That wasn't the case. As soon as I finished my first, I was ready for a second.

I'm a big red ale fan, and this is one of the best I've had in a while.
