Allagash Curieux

July 21, 2013

Overall Grade:A

It really is a Tripel bourbon, wow!

Starts spiced then malty, like a Belgian, before a delayed kick of bourbon powers through.

This is spectacular. The body and upfront flavor are that of a fine Tripel. I have no idea how Allagash pulled off the seamless transition from a sweet, spiced Tripel to a no-doubt bourbon, while largely masking the alcohol up front. Awesomely well done!

Surprisingly little aroma. Some typical spiced Belgian with a whiff of alcohol.
